Hurworth Concert Band was formed on 16th October 1986 in the old stables at Hurworth Grange, under the conductorship of Ted Kirby and Peter Dodgson.

The band is an amateur wind band which draws it's players from Darlington and the surrounding area and has always strived to provide an opportunity for people from all walks of the community to pursue their musical interests and develop their instrumental skills as well as providing a musical resource the local community.

The band has a healthy membership, including some of the original members from 1986, and plays numerous venues in the Darlington area each year.
